STI-GS9 Technical Service Manager, India

Shell Technology India Pvt. Ltd., is a group company of Royal Dutch Shell plc., The Hague, Netherlands. Located in Bangalore, it is the third Shell global centre for technology after Houston, USA and Amsterdam, The Netherlands - delivering advanced technical studies, projects and services for Shell around the world as well as supporting Shell activities in India. The services span upstream exploration and production activities as well as downstream chemical, gas and refinery operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a close working relationship with customer technical staff, e.g. unit engineers, plant supervisors and technical managers etc;
- Establish themselves as a credible hydroprocessing technical expert capable of working with customers independently;
- Produce high and consistent quality technical proposals to customers;
- Provide world class, value adding, technical service to customers;
- Actively solicit feedback from customers on the quality of Criterion's products and services. Communicate this feedback to sales and marketing functions;
- Actively contribute to the continuous updating and improvement of procedures and tools, e.g. start-up procedures, modeling tools, monitoring tools etc;
- Develop new customer accounts for Criterion/Zeolyst;
- Develop Customer Account plans together with his/her commercial colleagues.
Requirements:The ideal candidate should have:
- Engineering Degree of Technical University (or equivalent);
- Good knowledge of refining in general and hydroprocessing in particular;
- Good writing and presentation skills;
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years experience in refining technology support;
- Knowledge of heterogeneous catalysis particularly in the area of hydrotreating is a plus;
- Ability/experience to cooperate with Shell GS, the Shell Group as a whole and outside parties (clients, Engineering Contractors, etc.) is a plus;
- Been able to communicate within the CRI/Criterion organization in English. India languages are providing a plus;
- Applicant should also be an effective team player, innovative in ways of working and have a strong customer orientation;
- Able to work independently and take ownership for assigned work;
- Able to multi-task and manage several projects at the same time;
- Authorisation to work in India is required for this position;
- A remuneration package based on the conditions in the country of employment will be offered for this position.
