Earlier this year, eight individuals and 14 teams from across all PepsiCo divisions, along with two external partners, were honored as 2007 Harvey C. Russell Inclusion Award winners. The Harvey C. Russell Award, part of PepsiCo's Chairman's Award, honors those who have distinguished themselves as truly extraordinary in their efforts to help PepsiCo further its goal to build a diverse and inclusive culture. The award is named after Harvey C. Russell, who broke America's color barrier when he became a vice president of PepsiCo in 1962 and went on to set the standard for corporate social responsibility.
In an ongoing series, PEPline is featuring a different winner each Monday and Wednesday. Today's recognition goes to a talented individual who is doing groundbreaking work: Denise Alexander.
As an active member of many PepsiCo Employee Networks (Westchester Black Employees Association, EQUAL and PepsiCo Latino Network) and PepsiCo's Toastmasters Association, Denise has made exceptional contributions toward PepsiCo's goal of becoming a more inclusive environment. A tireless volunteer, Denise believes that embracing differences is the path to true inclusion. She encourages and enlists others' participation through her consistent and heartfelt efforts to create awareness for community involvement, both at PepsiCo and in her personal life. Denise sees diversity and inclusion not as just the right thing to do, but as the only thing to do.
