PepsiCo International hosted a two-day Female Talent Workshop attended by 28 PI executives and senior managers from the Middle East and Africa to ensure that the strategic priority of diversity and inclusion is being met. United Arab Emirates Minister of Economy Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, a role model to thousands of women in the region, joined the group and shared her personal and leadership insights and thoughts on success factors and finding and maintaining balance at work and home. PI MEA President Saad Abdul-Latif noted that participants were inspired by her experiences.

Dawn Hudson, president and CEO of Pepsi-Cola North America, and Saad also addressed meeting participants, talking about the importance of the meeting and the team's commitment to Diversity and Inclusion (D&I). Dawn discussed the company's vision and strategic priorities for women during her address. Saad focused on the importance of attracting and retaining the best people -- "regardless of gender, ethnicity or religion," urging executive women to commit to supporting these goals as part of their ongoing performance and focus at PepsiCo.

The workshop builds on the region's first-ever D&I workshop in June 2006 in Istanbul, and continues the team's focus on several initiatives for females executives, including mentoring and work/life balance task forces.

The Female Talent Workshop was covered by many media in Dubai and the region, including The Kaleej Times, The Gulf Today and online outlets AMEInfo.com and Zawya.com.
