PepsiCo UK & Ireland has been accepted as an inaugural signatory. Through the Next Step Diversity Mark accreditation, PIUK has a leading opportunity to publicly demonstrate its commitment to recruiting, developing and promoting diverse talent, with particular emphasis on ethnic minorities. The Diversity Mark is a new initiative launched with the support of the Chancellor of the Exchequer and is intended to increase the awareness of the real benefits to both employee and employer that an ethnically diverse workforce can bring.
PIUK President & CEO Salman Amin attended a breakfast meeting with Member of Parliament Keith Vaz in late April in London, where the Diversity Mark was awarded to a variety of companies and government agencies. He was presented with the PepsiCo Award at this meeting. Others receiving the award were Ministry of Defence (MOD), Department of Health, Alliance & Leicester, KPMG, Bestway, Met Police and Guys & St. Thomas
